' About PRE, PRO, POST Biotics '

  • Probiotics

Probiotics improves proliferation of beneficial bacteria, suppresses harmful bacteria, and promotes smooth bowel movement.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), probiotics are ‘live microorganisms which when administered in appropriate amounts confer a health benefit on the host.’ In other words, probiotics as a term collectively refer to beneficial bacteria that benefit our body, and the bacteria that account for the majority of probiotics are Lactobacilius.

  • Prebiotics

As a nutrient source for probiotics, prebiotics promote the beneficial activity and growth of probiotics.

Characteristically, prebiotics reach the intestines without being digested to promote proliferation of the beneficial bacteria, to activate the ingested probiotics, and to promote growth of the pre-existing beneficial bacteria in the intestines. In addition, prebiotics produces short fatty acid chains to create an environment specifically adverse to the harmful bacteria, only. Finally, prebiotics helps produce additional energy source for the colon mucosa.

  • Postbiotics

Combination of probiotics, beneficial bacteria, and postbiotics, nutrient source for probiotics, is termed Neobiotics. The addition of postbiotics, metabolites of probiotics, to Neobiotics creates a next-generation probiotics that can improve intestine health even further.

Postbiotics, through its synergy with prebiotics, have been proven as an effective and safe product in promoting intestine health and in proliferating beneficial bacteria growth.
